We were looking for something fun to do yesterday afternoon after our routine Saturday trip to Costco earlier in the day, when we stumbled upon the Soft Opening of one of Tampa's newest Restaurants, Whiskey Cake. The location is huge, right around 8000-square feet. The vibe is modern and comfortable. The bakery and the bathrooms are beautiful with unique tile work.  The food is absolutely delicious, and the Whiskey is abundant!  We had the pleasure of meeting Vince Kassay, the managing partner, and Mike Johnson, the Sr. VP of Operations who were both just as engaging and welcoming as their new Restaurant.

Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar is opening its seventh location on March 11 at Tampa’s International Plaza. With six other locations (5 locations in Texas, and 1 in Oklahoma City) this is the restaurant’s first venture in Florida. The restaurant will offer over 500 bourbons, whiskeys, and ryes — making it one of the largest whiskey libraries in the country.

Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar is serving up tasty farm-to-kitchen dishes & cocktails out of their from-scratch-only kitchen and bar. They use slow-cooking methods on a live-wood grill, smoker, and spit because they believe that food just tastes better that way. They also believe that local is a place as much as it is a way of eating. Everything on their menu is infused with and inspired by the local ingredients available seasonally.

Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar Tampa opens to the public on Monday, March 11th at 4 p.m., and will be starting with dinner service until the following week when it’ll expand to lunch hours. Brunch service is scheduled to start on March 23rd.

Whiskey Cake Tampa is located at:

International Plaza
2223 N West Shore Blvd
Tampa, FL  33607
